Growing up in the blue-collar town of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, I learned early that hard work, personal responsibility, and helping others weren't simply values—they were a way of life. Those lessons have guided every chapter of my professional and personal journey.

I’ve been fortunate to mentor dozens of professionals, and support hundreds more through my career and community work. And what I’ve learned is that people don’t need a pitch, they need a path and someone who’s willing to walk it with them.

I grew up in McKees Rocks, just outside Pittsburgh. A mill town built by immigrants who came for work, for dignity, for something better. Neighborhoods were tight, but it was all one community. When the mills closed, people didn’t. That mix of hard work and stubborn hope shaped me.

The dirt road came into my life during one of its hardest stretches. Around that time, a song by Sawyer Brown called “The Dirt Road” became a kind of personal anthem. Its message was blunt: the hard road can shape you, and sometimes the only way forward is through it. One line stuck: “It ain’t easy, but it ain’t supposed to be.” I hadn’t chosen that road, but it was mine, and I wasn’t done. I just had to keep moving until I came out the other side.

It also taught me something I’ve carried ever since. There will always be problems in life, but there is almost always a way to keep moving forward.

In 2020, my life took an unexpected turn with a diagnosis of prostate cancer. Two years later, it returned as Stage 4. Like so many of life's challenges, it wasn't the diagnosis that would define me—it was how I chose to respond.

Writing became part of that journey.

What began as personal reflection evolved into stories about faith, family, perseverance, resilience, humor, and the lessons that often reveal themselves during life's most difficult moments. Those stories became my memoir, It's A Glorious Day, followed by Glorious Days on the Dirt Road, and continue through my newsletter, The Dirt Road, speaking engagements, and practical resources designed to encourage others.

Whether I'm writing, speaking, mentoring, or simply sharing a conversation over coffee, my mission remains the same:

To encourage people to keep moving forward, trust God's plan, and recognize that even life's dirt roads can lead somewhere beautiful.
